Wife was killed before his eyes by hooded men. last thing he saw before being knocked out was his daughter screaming as they took her away. Woke up 10 years later at a strangers house in Japan with a magic locket around neck that had a picture of his wife and daughter in it. The man told him that if the eyes on the person in the locket are open it means that person is alive. His daughters eyes remained open. Took blood oath not to ever have another mate until daughter was found.
